In 2011, at just 19 years old, I lost my precious baby boy Kalib, who was born sleeping at 21 weeks. I already had a toddler at the time, and coping with teen parenthood while facing such a heartbreaking loss was incredibly difficult. Nearly 15 years later, there are still days I cry and wonder who he would have become. People say “time heals” – but truthfully, it doesn’t. You just learn to carry the pain differently.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible support of SANDS. They helped me through the darkest days and continue to support families through the devastation of baby loss, while funding vital research to save babies’ lives.

Every October, in Kalib’s memory, I donate 50% of all sales from memorial items and candles to SANDS. Each item is handmade with love, care, and understanding – from one angel parent to another. This year, I’ll also have a fundraiser money box in the shop, and donations can be made via PayPal at akadesigns2@hotmail.com (please use SANDS DONATION as the reference).
